In using the
woodfiring
technique we are not only pursuing a tradition of our ancestors, but also trying
to produce works that carry within themselves something deeper than technique: a poetry that speaks the language of our souls, a pottery that reflects our way
of living .
Woodfiring demands discovery and consonancy with nature. For us, making pots is more about process than product. Each work begins its life on the potters wheel. It is altered or assembled off the wheel, fired, glazed with a mixture
of natural materials and finally fired a second time in a wood-burning kiln of our own construction at 1260C - 1350C.
